Business Leadership: Be prepared to lose everything
When Tseke Nkadimeng makes a statement like “be prepared to lose everything to achieve your purpose”, it comes from a place of 100% authenticity.

At the height of the world recession, Nkadimeng, CEO of Afric Oil, was tasked with switching off the lights at this, South Africa’s first black-empowered oil company. But since then the company’s journey, supported by parent company Pembani, has been marked by resilience and resolve.

This indomitable spirit of ‘do whatever it takes’ was evident from day one when, to get Afric Oil off the ground, Pembani’s founders used their homes as collateral and borrowed R2 million from FirstCorp Merchant Bank.

Today the company is 20 years old and CEO Nkadimeng has sage advice for business leaders, some of which he shares in this three-minute quick insight video, extracted from an exclusive in-depth half-hour interview in which he reveals his inspired leadership journey; the personal and professional lessons learnt; and milestones achieved.
